Renovated Crowne Plaza eyeing more tourists

Muscat: With the grand reopening of one of the iconic destinations in Muscat, Crowne Plaza is targeting to attract more tourists into the country this year.
Talking exclusively to the Times of Oman, Herve Corvest, Area General Manager at Crowne Plaza Muscat, said the upgraded premises of the hotel will bring in more tourists that will add to the growing tourism sector of Oman.

“When you have tourists coming from abroad to Oman, whether it is their first time or they have been here before, and if they stay at our hotel and experience the view along with the facilities we offer, it will indeed boost the tourism sector as they will talk about it. Also, the people in Oman are extremely genuine and nice, and a stay in a nice hotel with an incredible infinity pool will promote the country when tourists go back home and share their experience,” Corvest said.

The hotel recently went through a massive renovation that was completed in just 100 days in order to keep up to date and maintain its market share.
“We closed Crowne Plaza in the summer for a period of three months as business is relatively low, and decided to complete the renovation during that time in order to be ready for the season, which starts from October and continues until April. The guests can now expect good quality services in a modern environment where they will feel rewarded along with decent services and prices,” Corvest said.
He added that it was a big challenge to renovate the premises that includes a porte-cochere, which combines a touch of luxury, while maintaining elements of Omani architecture, the new and contemporary lobby, double infinity pools overlooking the Sea of Oman with stunning panoramic views of the city and expanded restaurant terraces in 100 days, but since the peak season starts from this month, they did their best to achieve the target and are very happy with the final result.

The hotel comprises 200 rooms and suites, six award-winning international restaurants and lounges, six fully equipped meeting rooms and a 4,000-sqm ballroom, a 24-hour fitness centre, as well as a private beach.
