Visa ban for certain jobs extends in Oman

Muscat: A temporary ban on issuing new visas for certain job categories in the private sector will be extended by another six months, a ministerial decision issued by Minister of Manpower, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri, said.
The decision states that several professions will have a prolonged visa ban.
The decision clarified that cleaners, camel breeders, sales and construction workers will not get a visa for another six months coming into effect from December 1, 2016, the ministerial decision said.
It also said that the Ministry of Manpower even has decided not to allow the recruitment of non-Omanis workers in carpentry, aluminium workshops, blacksmith, brick kilns from January 2017.
The regulations, however, doesn’t apply to A Grade companies.
