Oman's Education Ministry derecognises this university

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education has taken the decision to remove Buckingham University in the United Kingdom from the list of recommended institutions in the UK and has added seven new universities to its list.

The Ministry said in a statement, "Based on the ministerial decision to cancel the recognition of the educational institution (University of Buckingham) from the list of educational institutions recommended to study in the United Kingdom, the Committee decided to stop the enrollment of Omani students to this University and has decided not to recognise the equivalence certificates issued by the University of Buckingham after this decision."

The following educational institutions will be included in the recommended higher education institutions in the Ministry's approved system, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Charleston, The College of Wooster in the USA, NEOMA Business School, Em Normandia, HEC Paris in France and the American University in UAE.
