Movies and shows to watch in the coming weeks

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil – Angelina Jolie pulls off her role as Maleficent flawless yet again. Just that this time, she isn’t all-evil (or at least she tries her best not to be). The storyline revolves around the happy wedding of the young princess, but along with the charming prince comes his not-so-benevolent mother. Probably the most talked-about part in the movie is the dinner party, where Angelina Jolie maintains her composure, smiles, and projects her best non-threatening side to the future in-laws – an unexpected comedic side to Maleficent. Along with the main plot, there are other mystical stories that unravel as the movie progresses. The costumes, CGI creatures, and perfect choice of cast and crew make this sequel just as exciting as the first.
Running Time: 120 minutes
Cast: Angelina Jolie, David Gyasi, Michelle Pfeiffer

Android Kunjappan version 5.25 – An over-protective father who tries to keep his son close is eventually introduced to a robot who acts as his nurse. A light-hearted comedy that emphasizes on human sentiments, the addition of an AI humanoid is a daring but wonderfully depicted element. The movie goes over ideas of humanity versus artificial intelligence, generation gap, and the strong bonds that inherently exist between a father and son.
Running Time: 155 minutes
Cast: Suraj Venjaramoodu, Soubin Sahir, Kendy Zirdo

Pagalpanti – If the trailers are making you laugh, you can be sure that you’ll be in splits throughout the movie. This multi-starrer movie, while being downright funny, also has an unusual storyline. With great punch lines, timely delivery, and just the right amount of slapstick comedy, Pagalpanti has created quite the buzz.
Starring: Arshad Warsi, Ileana D'Cruz, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor
