Oman likely receive heavy rainfall

Muscat: The weather analysis in the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center has indicated that a trough of low pressure located in North of Iran will affect the Sultanate from today 19th to Friday, November 22, 2019, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA)has informed on Tuesday.

In a statement online, PACA said: “ the weather will continue to be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of rain, occasionally thundershower associated with fresh winds, hails and flash flood over Musandam Governorate extending gradually to Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Daherah, Al Dakhliyah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates. The weather charts also indicate noticeable decrease in temperature associated with the system.”

“ Sea state will be moderate to rough along coastal areas of Musandam and Oman Sea with wave height between 1.5 to 2.5 meters and slight to moderate along coastal areas of Arabian Sea with wave height of 1.5.” PACA said

The public Authority of Civil Aviation has advised people to take precaution during rain and and to check the sea state before sailing.
