Oman's share index closes marginally higher

Oman's share index closes marginally higher

Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 4,092.77, up 0.22%. The Sharia Index closed up by 0.17% at 558.19 points. Al Jazeera Services, up 6.38%, was the top gainer. Sharqiya Desalination, down 9.69%, was the top loser. Al Jazeera Service was the most active in terms of a number of shares traded while OIFC was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 544 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.21 million with more than 7.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 8 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR109,000 while domestic investors were net sellers for RO 104K followed by foreign investors for OMR5,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,539.92 points, up 0.29%. Oman Qatar Insurance, Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa, and National Bank of Oman were up by 2.13%, 1.67%, 1.16%, 1.08%, and 1.06% respectively. Al Madina Takaful and HSBC Bank Oman were down by 1.22% and 0.78% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,547.19 points, up 0.62%. Voltamp Energy, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries, Al Maha Ceramics, and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 4.05%, 2.84%, 2.50%, 2.50%, and 1.42% respectively. Oman Cement was down 1.62%.
Services index closed up 0.04% at 1,950.00 points. Al Jazeera Services, Muscat Gases, National Gas, Renaissance Services, and OIFC were up by 6.38%, 3.49%, 1.81%, 1.79%, and 1.68% respectively. Sharqiyah Desalination, Sohar Power, Phoenix Power, Muscat City Desalination, and Ooredoo were down by 9.69%, 4.48%, 2.63%, 0.93%, and 0.73% respectively.
