Oman likely to be affected by low pressure

Muscat: A trough of low pressure in South of Iran will affect Oman coast from November 19 to 22, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said on Sunday.

The weather analysis in the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre has indicated that a trough of low pressure located South of Iran will affect the Sultanate from 19th to 22th November 2019.

In a statement issued onlinem PACA said: “The weather will be partly cloudy with chances of rain and occasionally thundershower associated with fresh winds, hail and flash flood from Tuesday evening over Governorate of Musandam, extending gradually to Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dahirah, Al Dakhliliyah, Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah and North Al Sharqiyah. The weather charts also indicate relative decrease in temperature associated with the system.”

“The state will be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Oman Sea with wave height ranging between 2.5 to 1.5 meters, while it will be moderate along rest of the coasts with wave height ranging between 1.5 to 2.0 meters.” PACA added

The public Authority for Civil advices all to take precaution during rain and valleys and to check the sea state before sailing.
