Stop using aluminum foil, Ministry tells restaurants in Oman

Muscat: Are you using aluminum foil for grilling or for wrapping your food? The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources has warned restaurants, cafes and coffee shops to stop using aluminum foil in cooking as some of the foil will leach into your meal - and this could be bad for your health.

“The Ministry notes that all establishments that prepare food of all kinds need to stop using aluminum for barbecuing and cooking. This is due to the interaction of aluminum with food and the damage it causes to consumer health,” a statement from the ministry said.
