Renaissance, Alpha, ACT, Bank Muscat post powerful victories

Muscat: Bilal Muhammed’s 5 for 29 and Syed Muzammil’s 4 for 28 powered Renaissance to an emphatic 43-run win despite being dismissed for 152 in A Premier Division game at Oman Cricket ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.
Outstanding spell by Imran Muhammed in which he picked up 6 for 35 rocked Renaissance and its hopes of posting a big total on the board. Muzammil Ilyas lent him good support by taking 2 for 44. Waruna Sajith was Renaissance’s lone warrior with 62 off 70.
IT Works found the going tough from the very outset, losing six wickets for only 46 in the first ten overs. Bilal and Syed made sure there would be no recovery with brilliant bowling, dismissing IT Works for only 109 in the 32 nd over. Adnan Ilyas (37) and Waseem Akhtar (30) were the only notable scorers.
Brief scores (Premier Division): Renaissance 152 all out in 38.1 overs (Waruna Sajith 62 – 7x4, 2x6. Imran Muhammed 6-35, Muzammil Ilyas 2-44) defeated IT Works 109 all out in 31.5 overs (Adnan Ilyas 37 – 3x4, 1x6, Waseem Akhtar 30 – 3x4. Bilal Muhammed 5-29, Syed Muzammil 4-28) by 43 runs.

Mallya, Trivedi steer Alpha to easy win

Chetan Mallya (4 for 31) and Parth Trivedi (59 off 73) led ARM Alpha to a solid 6-wicket win over Ernst and Young in an A Division clash at Oman Cricket grassy ground 2 on Friday.
Mallya ripped through E&Y as it folded up for 176 in the 43 rd over despite Rana Zeeshan’s fighting 55. Nalinda Prasad bagged 2 for 31. Alpha raced to the target in only 34.5 overs, scoring 177 for 4 thanks to lovely knock by Parth Trivedi (59) and
Shrey Wilson (40).

Brief scores (A Division): Ernst and Young 176 all out in 42.3 overs (Rana Zeeshan 55 – 2x4, 6x6, Mohammed Nayaz 35 – 2x4. Chetan Mallya 4-31, Nalinda Prasad 2- 31) lost to ARM Alpha 177 for 4 in 34.5 overs (Parth Trivedi 59 – 5x4, Shrey Wilson

ACT downs PDO

In a B Division game, ACT handed PDO a 119-run drubbing at Muscat Municipality ground 1 in Amerat. ACT piled up 232 for 1 in 30 overs thanks to superb batting by Hafiz Irfan (142 not out) and Iftikhar Ahmed 114). PDO failed to mount a decent challenge, getting dismissed for 153 in the 21 st over. Rajesh Devashya was the pick of ACT bowlers, taking 3 for 32 while Puneet Mehta and Qasim Ali took two wickets each. Brief scores (B Division): ACT 232 for 1 in 30 overs (Hafiz Irfan 142 not out – 15x4,

Bank Muscat routs OCT Al Hail A

In a C Division match at Muscat Municipality ground 2, Bank Muscat made short work of OCT Al Hail A in a 69-run victory on Friday. Bank Muscat posted a sizeable 181 for 8 on the board in 20 overs, Yousuf Al Balushi (42), Rameshbabu (42) and Zeeshan Tufail (32). OCT Al Hail A managed to score only 112 for 8 before its quota of overs finished. Waleem Rahim topscored
with a fluent 64. Ajay Hirlekar claimed 3 for 18 while Zeeshan Tufail took two wickets.
