Oman's share index closes lower marginally

Muscat: MSM30 index closed down by 0.08% at 3,986.57 points. The Sharia Index closed down by 0.18% at 540.08 points. Phoenix Power, up 2.56%, was the top gainer. National Life & General insurance, down 3.13%, was the top loser. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of the number of shares as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 162 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR354,000 with more than 2.83 million shares changing hands. Out of 27 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 12 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR 186,000 while domestic investors were net sellers for OMR115,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR 72,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,447.48 points, down 0.38%. Bank Muscat closed 0.45% higher. National Life & General Insurance, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Ahli Bank, Alizz Islamic Bank, and Vision Insurance were down by 3.13%, 3.08%, 1.6%, 1.52%, and 0.91% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,297.13 points, down 0.12%. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles is the only stock from industrial which had a price change today. The stock closed at RO 0.103, down 0.96%.
Services index closed up 0.84% at 1,926.24 points. Phoenix Power and Omantel were up 2.56%, and 0.68% respectively. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Muscat City Desalination, and Renaissance Services were down by 1.41%, 1.41%, 0.95%, and 0.72% respectively.
