Pakistan jumps 28 places in World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business 2020

Muscat: Pakistan has jumped up 28 places on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index and clinched 108th position.

According to the report released on Thursday, October 24, Pakistan carried out six reforms in the last one year that helped improving its ranking from 136 to 108.

New Zealand topped the Ease of Doing Business Index, followed in the Top 10 (in order) by Singapore; Hong Kong SAR, China; Denmark; Korea, Rep; the United States; Georgia; the United Kingdom; Norway; and Sweden.

The economies with the most notable improvement in Doing Business 2020 are Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Togo, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Kuwait, China, India and Nigeria, the report said.

In addition to that, India still remained at top among the South Asian countries by improving 14 positions and clinched to 63rd out of 190 countries this year.
