Oman's share index closes marginally lower

Muscat: MSM30 index closed down by 0.23% at 4,007.01 points. The Sharia Index closed down by 0.10% at 541.62 points. Global Financial Investment, up 5.88%, was the top gainer. Vision Insurance, down 7.02%, was the top loser. Al Sharqia Investment was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 233 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR 0.548 million with more than 3.60 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 12 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR 96,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR 79,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR 17,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,499.10 points, down 0.25%. Global Financial Investment and Sohar International Bank were up by 5.88% and 0.90% respectively Vision Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment, Ahli Bank and Bank Muscat were down by 7.02%, 3.33%, 1.57% and 0.89% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,303.67 points, up 0.02%. Voltamp Energy was up by 2.29%. Galfar Engineering and Al Maha Ceramics were down by 1.27% and 0.59%.
Services index closed down 0.42% at 1,942.21 points. Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power and Al Jazeera Service were up by 2.74%, 1.39% and 0.79% respectively. Muscat City, SMN power, Renaissance Service, Oman Oil Marketing and Ooredoo were down by 4.5%, 2.4%, 2.17%, 0.8% and 0.76% respectively.
