Muscat: A mild earthquake — measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale — hit southern Iran at 2.58 pm (Oman time), according to the seismological centre at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).
The centre at SQU said that the epicentre was approximately 146 kilometres from Khasab in Musandam.
