Royal Oman Police sets deadline for impounded vehicle owners to pay up

Muscat: If you do not complete procedures to recover your impounded vehicle within two weeks after it has been impounded for six months, you could lose it to a public auction.

The Royal Oman Police on Sunday said that owners of detained vehicles in Dakhilyah Governorate, as well as finance and insurance companies associated with these vehicles, are required to complete procedures related to their detention within two weeks.

The ROP said in the statement that a failure to comply with the regulations within the set time frame would result in the vehicles being sold at a public auction.

ROP statement said: “All vehicle owners as well as finance and insurance companies related to vehicles held in police stations of the Dakhiliyah Governorate Police Command must complete the procedures related to impounded vehicles within two weeks. Otherwise they will be sold in auction.”
