Measures to tackle trafficking discussed with US delegation

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Human Trafficking (NCCHT) yesterday received John Richmond, US Ambassador at Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons in the US Department of State.
The meeting reviewed the Sultanate’s efforts exerted in combating human trafficking in all forms, besides protecting and caring for victims of human trafficking.
On his turn, the US officials hailed these efforts. The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hashil Al Meselhi, Head of the Secretary General Office Department, Sheikh Humaid bin Ali Al Ma’ani, Head of International Affairs Department, Marc J. Sievers, US Ambassador to the Sultanate and the visiting delegation.
A joint session was held between the Omani and US sides.
The Omani side was led by Sheikh Humaid bin Ali Al-Ma’ani, Head of International Affairs Department with membership of the NCCHT members while it was led from the US side by John Richmond, US Ambassador at Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons in the US Department of State and his accompanying delegation.
