Muscat City Centre marks 15th anniversary

Muscat: City Centre Muscat, one of Oman’s largest retail malls yesterday marked its 15th anniversary in the country with a series of special events, and fun activities and presented visitors with an opportunity to win amazing prizes.
The mall first opened its doors in 2001 and transformed the Sultanate’s retail landscape positioning itself as a top destination for international retailers entering the Omani market. Going back to 2001, Husam Al Mandhari, Senior Mall Manger, City Centre Muscat said, “When we first opened, the size of the mall was about 30,000 sqm of retail area with 80 stores, and in 2016, the size has gone to 70,000 sqm of leasable area with more than 200 stores. You can see the difference, the number of brands, the international brands making their debut in City Centre Muscat is something that we are all very proud of.
“They selected City Centre Muscat to launch their brands in the country, so there are many changes. This does not mean we are going to stop, we are developing the mall and over the last two years we have undergone a huge expansion here. We always look at opportunities and always listen to our customers and look at what the market needs, that’s what drives us in terms of future plans.”
