GCC ministers discuss economic cooperation

Muscat: The GCC ministers of finance and economy held their 110th meeting of the Financial and Economic Committee at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat on Monday under the chair of Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs.
Al Balushi pointed out in a speech that the international economy recently witnesses rapid developments and new challenges that require the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to keep pace with these developments and facing those challenges through unifying the efforts and enhancing the GCC joint economic work to reach integrated prospective economy and achieve aspirations of the GCC peoples.
Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, GCC Secretary General expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the Sultanate’s support to the GCC joint action march, as well as for the sincere efforts in enhancing the GCC cooperation to achieve further integration among the GCC countries in various fields.
The meeting discussed several topics relating to the joint financial and economic cooperation and the GCC common market. It also discussed several recommendations raised by the GCC Committee of Governors of Monetary Institutions and Central Banks, the GCC Customs Union and the GCC Tax Authorities upon which appropriate decisions were taken.
