These companies in Oman are among the best places in the world to work at

Muscat: Tech giant Cisco, hotel chain Hilton and global courier service DHL are among the best companies in the world to work in, a new report has shown.

The list of the world’s top 25 companies to work at was released by global analytics and consulting firm Great Place to Work, and lists Cisco as the best company in the world to work at, followed by Hilton and information technology company Salesforce.

DHL Express was fourth on that list, and Mars Incorporated, which speicalises in manufacturing rounded off the top five. Other companies on the list included software firm SAP, accounting company EY (formerly known as Ernst and Young), healthcare company Stryker Corporation, and IT companies SAS and Workday.

Professional services company Adecco were 11th, pharmaceutical giant Roche were 12th, and Latin American infotech company Mercado Libre were ranked 13th. Credit card company American express and software big boys Adobe were 15th.

Another pharmacology company, AbbVie, were listed 16th, and IT company Intuit were number 17. Financial company Admiral were 18th, followed by Belcorp (healthcare) and Scotiabank (financial services). Professional services organisation Atento were 21st, manufacturing company Natura were 22nd, McDonalds were 23rd, Santander bank were 24th and AT&T Latin America completed the list of the top 25 companies.

A statement from Great Place to Work said, “Great Place to Work identifies the top organisations that create great workplaces around the world with the publication of the annual World's Best Workplaces list. To be eligible for the World's Best Workplaces list, a company must be named to five or more national Best Workplace lists within our current 58 countries, have 5,000 employees or more worldwide.

“At least 40 percent of the company's workforce (or 5,000 employees) must be based outside of the home country,” added the organisation.

“Companies also receive additional credit for their efforts to successfully create an excellent workplace culture in their worldwide locations. Candidates for this year's list will have appeared on national workplace lists published in 2018 and 2019.”
