Ministry of Culture renovates a fort in this part of Oman

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Culture (MoHC) has renovated and repaired parts of Al Mahyol fort in Wilayat Jalan Bani Bu Hasan in South Al Sharqiyah, according to a statement.

The MoHC's statement read: “The Ministry is renovating Al Mahyol Fort in Jalan Bani Bu Hasan. Cracks were repaired at the mass south of the landmark.

“This area connects the weapons stores and the wali’s residence in the north and the prison in the south side of the fort.

“Work also included the three internal rooms, dealing with the internal cracks in the walls, and then expanded to replace the back gate and to repair the flat rocks which cover the courtyard. The ministry also renovated the guard tower, and replaced the internal lighting for the fort’s facilities.

“Lastly, the Ministry worked on the wooden doors and windows, repairing them in the traditional style,” the statement added
