Real estate firms hailed for affordable housing

Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Housing, celebrated the Arab Housing Day on Wednesday, September 25, under the patronage of Oman’s Minister of Housing, Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi.
The celebrations were carried out with the theme: ‘the social responsibility of the private sector in support of affordable housing’.

Director General of the Directorate of Real Estate Development at the Ministry of Housing, Eng. Siham bint Ahmed Al Harthy, said, “The celebration of this day is to highlight the Sultanate’s efforts in this sector. During the ceremony, the institutions and companies that have contributed to supporting the construction of social housing as well as the major real estate development companies in the Sultanate which had a distinctive footprint in the development of the real estate sector in the Sultanate and have contributed to the provision of many integrated housing units and complexes in the Sultanate were honoured.”
“The Directorate of Real Estate Development has established a centre to complete the services of real estate developers through the Directorate within 27 days. All authorities issuing permits for these projects have been linked and each party has been given a few days to complete the procedures from all the authorities in case the developer provided the required papers and documents during the application,” she added.
