Omani crude oil fell by over US$4

Muscat: The price of Omani crude fell by US$4.73 on 18 September, according to a leading energy focused commodities exchange in the Middle East.
The price rose on 16 September from $59.25 to $64.56, reflecting a $5.31 increase in the price of Omani crude. It then rose to $68.44 on September 17, an increase of $3.88.
The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), which sells it on the global markets, revealed that the marker price now stands at US$63.71 reflecting a fall of US$4.73.
The marker price has been fluctuating for the past week showing a simultaneous increase and decrease. According to the DME, the marker price on 10 September for Omani crude oil stood at US$ 61.85 which then fell to US$61.82 on 11 September.
The price fell further on 12 September by US$1.56 and stood at US$60.26 and then fell by US$1.01 and stood at US$59.25 on 13 September .
Despite the fluctuating price of the Omani crude oil, the government will continue to push ahead with its intended diversification to ensure that the country has a secure future, and help it withstand fluctuating oil prices.
