Poachers arrested in Oman

Muscat: Wildlife rangers have arrested a number of poachers on charges of killing several animals including Arabian gazelles, Cata birds, and wild rabbits, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs announced.

In a statement, the Ministry said, "Wildlife rangers of the Shalim unit of MECA Directorate General in Dhofar governorate, in cooperation with Royal Oman Police and citizens, managed to arrest a number of people on charges of hunting ten Arabian gazelles, 23 Cata birds, and four wild rabbits."

"They were referred to the competent authorities in order to take legal action against them. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs urges everyone to cooperate and report wildlife rules violators through the number (24696333)," the statement added.
