Muscat: Wildlife rangers arrested a number of poachers on charges of killing nine sand partridge birds in Oman, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs has said.
In a statement, the Ministry said: “In cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, wildlife rangers in Najd area of the Directorate General of Environment and Climate Affairs in the governorate of Dhofar managed to arrest a number of people who have hunted 9 of the sand partridge birds.”
“They were referred to the competent authorities for further legal action against them,” the statement added.
