Chance for Indians in Oman to win a 25-day all expenses paid trip back home

Muscat: The Indian Embassy in Oman is offering a 25-day, all expenses paid trip to India to the winner of its logo designing contest winner for its ‘Know India’ programme.

The contest is being organised by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and is only open to Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin.

An official from the Indian embassy in Oman said, “The Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi invites entries for the Know India Programme logo design contest. The Know India Programme of the MEA is a programme for diaspora youth conducted with a view to promote awareness on different facets of life in India.

“The logo design contest is open to all Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs),” added the official. “The last date of entry is 15 October 2019, entries may please be emailed to [email protected]. The winner will be awarded a grand prize of a 25-day fully sponsored tour to India.”

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the logo should be professionally designed. “This logo will be featured on the ministry’s website, social media platforms and other mediums. As a result, the logo should be eye-catching and legible. The logo must promote the Know India Programme scheme of the government of India, which aims to reconnect the Indian diaspora youth of the age group between 18 and 30 years, with their Indian roots.”

“There are no limitations and any colours may be used,” added the MEA. “However, the logo must look good in colour (if any), or in black and white. The logo may be created using pencils, crayons, markers and paints. Also, the logo may be created using a computer drawing programme.”

Logos are not allowed to contain any copyrighted material, and must not possess any watermarks. They must have been created by the contestants, and may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published. They must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting, and must be simple.

“Winners will be selected by the Ministry of External Affairs,” added the ministry. “Contestants agree that the ministry may publish their logo and names and may use both for advertising campaigns and/or marketing materials in the future. Contestants assign all ownership rights, included intellectual property rights of the logo to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.”

The contest will accept submissions until 15 October, 2019. The winner will be announced through the website of the Ministry of External Affairs and its diplomatic offices overseas, as well as social media websites, and through direct contact with the winners’ email accounts. All entries submitted directly by contestants must be given directly to the Indian embassy, in their original source format, and in a high resolution PDF format with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher.
