State Council receives NDC delegation from Bangladesh

Muscat: A delegation from Bangladesh's National Defence College, led by Major General Abdullah al-Baqi, visited the State Council on Wednesday.

The delegation visited the State Council as part of its current official visit to Oman.

On arrival at the Council building in Al Bustan, the delegation was greeted by Hon. Saif Ali Shaikhan Al Amri and Hon. Sheikh Nasser bin Saeed Al Haddabi.

Ali Shaikhan Al Amri wished them a pleasant stay in the Sultanate and success in their desired objectives and wished for the enhancement in bonds of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

He also praised the existing relations, links between the Sultanate and Bangladesh, and noted the importance of such visits to contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

He then briefed the guests about the Shura march in the Sultanate, pointing out the interest of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the development of the institutional practice of shura through systematic and studied progression. He also pointed out that the State Council contributes to national work by implementing its duties and exercising its vested powers and competences.

Major General Abdullah al-Baqi, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the honourable members of the Council for the warm reception, and expressed his happiness on behalf of the delegation on their visit the Sultanate and praised the comprehensive development in all fields under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Following their remarks, the delegation viewed a documentary film illustrating the important aspects of the Council and concluded the visit after a tour of the premises to note its various facilities.
