Rescue team finds body of drowning victim after two-day search

Muscat: ‏Oman's Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance has found the body of an individual who went missing in a drowning incident in the sea off Al Ashkara, following a two-day search.

PACDA said in a statement online: "Further to the report of a drowning in the sea near the area of Al Ashkhara in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, we inform you that at this time the drowned man was found dead."

The authority announced last Friday that it had received a report of a missing person in the sea off Al Ashkhara, where along with the authority, citizens and the Coast Guard and police participated in the search for two days. This is the second drowning case in the sea of Al Ashkhara during the recent Eid Al Adha vacation.

"We would like to thank all citizens and government agencies involved in the research," PACDA added.

The authority called for the cooperation of all when it came to directing them to stay away from swimming in the sea during this period for the sake of their safety.
