Another individual drowns in Oman

Update: Rescue team finds body of drowning victim after two-day search
Muscat: On the heels of reports of a drowning in Oman, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) has reported the drowning of another person, this time too in South Al Sharqiyah.

Two days ago, the body of a 21-year-old male was found after he drowned in Al Ashkhara in South Al Sharqiyah.

A statement by PACDA read: "There have been reports of a drowning in Al Ashkhara. Efforts to find the drowned person in Al Ashkhara continue with the help of police's air force and concerned citizens."

"There is no news of him having been found as of yet," the statement added.

PACDA found the body of the previously drowned individual on August 15. The 21-year-old’s body was found 24 hours after reports of his drowning emerged, and authorities called on people to pay heed to official sources about the ocean's conditions and to not go swimming when weather conditions make swimming dangerous.
