Muscat: People have been attempting to cross a flowing wadi in Al Buraimi today after heavy rainfall, which prompted the authorities to call on people to stay safe and avoid crossing flowing wadis.
A statement by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance read: "It has been noted that some drivers are risking themselves by crossing Wadi Al Fayyadh in Al Buraimi."
"Because of this, we urge everyone to follow traffic guidelines and not to risk their lives or the lives of others with this behaviour," the statement added.
Rain has been falling in some parts of Al Buraimi for most of the day, according to citizens residing in the area.
