New airport plan for Oman progressing, says PACA chief

A project which was set up to study the possibility of opening an airport in Musandam has moved to its second phase.

This was revealed by Dr Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali Al Zaabi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

He said that the first stage of the project has been completed, and the second phase of the project, which is considered one of the most important, has been initiated.

The airport would be the sixth serving the country, in addition to Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Duqm and Khasab.
