Royal Oman Police arrest over 70 expats

Muscat: Seventy two expats were arrested in A'Dakhiliyah for violating labour and residence laws, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.

According to authorities, the arrests were made in a joint operation between the A'Dakhiliyah Police Force and the Nizwa Special Unit.

In an online statement ROP said: "The A'Dakhiliyah police command in cooperation with the Nizwa special police unit carried out an operation to arrest 72 workers who were in violations of labour and residence law."

In another case, the police announced the seizure of a group of motorbikes in A'Dakhiliyah.

"46 motorbikes were confiscated by the police in Wilayat Manah for violating traffic laws,” the police said.

Legal action has been taken against the accused.
