Muscat: A total of 86 women were arrested in Muscat Governorate on charges of prostitution, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
Officials said that the women belonged to different nationalities.
According to ROP’s statement online, “Muscat Governorate Police Command, in conjunction with the General Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Investigation, Special Tasks and the General Directorate of Passports and Residence, arrested 86 [women] of different nationalities. The arrests took place in various locations in the Governorate of Muscat. [The women were arrested] on charges of practicing prostitution and moving about on the streets in a manner contrary to public morals."
