Muscat: Abu Dhabi Police were called on to provide assistance to a bus carrying more than 50 Omani passengers, after it was involved in an incident in the UAE.
According to Abu Dhabi police, the bus was unable to continue the journey after colliding with a roadblock while heading from Saudi Arabia back to Oman. However, no passengers were injured.
An online statement said, “Abu Dhabi Police provided support to 52 Umrah pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman on their way back from KSA after their bus was hit by an iron roadblock on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road.”
Colonel Mohammed Salem Al Shihi, Director of the Department of Traffic of External Areas at Abu Dhabi Police, said, “The Directorate immediately provided an appropriate place to host the Omanis and provide them with meals until an alternative means of transport was able to take them home, in the spirit of humanitarian action.”
