Muscat: A delegation from Muscat Municipality headed by the organisation’s chairman took part in the 2019 World Cities Summit, which was held in Medellin, Colombia.

With the theme of this year’s summit being ‘Liveable and sustainable cities: building a high-trust city’, Muscat Municipality was represented by Mohsin Ash Sheikh, who was accompanied by Khalifa As Siyabi and Dr Hanan Al Jabriyya.

As part of the ceremony celebrating the event, Dr Hanan, who serves as acting director of the Strategic Planning Department, wrote the phrase ‘Friendship and peace – Muscat, Oman’ in Arabic as a contribution from Muscat Municipality. Also part of the event was the annual World Cities Summit Mayors Forum.

This is an exclusive, by-invitation-only global platform for mayors and city leaders to discuss pressing urban challenges and share best practice. The sessions will include case study presentations by mayors and the sharing of ideas by senior representatives of international organisations as well as industry players.
