Omani delegate praises relations with World Intellectual Property Organisation

Geneva: The Sultanate participated in the meetings of the WIPO General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session in Geneva. The meeting will continue until October 2.
The Sultanate’s delegation is led by Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Eng. Al Dheeb delivered the opening statement of the Sultanate, in which he praised the relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in light of the Sultanate’s implementation of the operational objectives of the National Innovation Strategy.
He said that the Ministry is keen to cooperate with WIPO to find innovative solutions and provide better services through easy and efficient electronic procedures and services available to all in relation to the work of the Intellectual Property Department, which reflects the Ministry’s keenness to continuously improve its services.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry highlighted the Sultanate’s active participation in the various programmes and activities of the organisation, such as participation in the celebration of the World Intellectual Property Day through a series of events in the field of intellectual property and the participation of three Omani female inventors to represent the Arab region with a group of inventions in the region.
He stressed the constructive contribution of the Sultanate to all the work of the organisation.
