Muscat: Several wadis across wilayats in the Sultanate have overflowed due to rainfall over the weekend.

In the Al Rustaq Wilayat in the Al Batinah south governorate, Wadi Al Sahtan and Wadi Bani Ghafer, have overflowed.

Several people from the Al Rustaq Wilayat have shared videos of big traffic jam in their wilayat, where due to the overflow of Wadi Bani Ghafer, crossing the road has become difficult, which has stopped traffic.

People of Oman should remember that: Article 49 of Oman’s Traffic Law stipulates that any person who ‘intentionally crosses the valleys in such a way as to endanger his life or the life of passengers with him or others,’ shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months and a fine not exceeding OMR 500.”

The northern parts of Oman are due to witness more rainfall on Sunday, according to the weather forecast of the Public Authority of Civil Aviation.
