Luis Enrique will not continue as Spain head coach

Madrid: Luis Enrique is no longer the head coach of Spain. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales will announce that the Asturian will be stepping down from his position, following his personal issue that has prevented him from coaching La Roja since March.

At all times, the 49-year-old has had the support of the RFEF, and they have never questioned Luis Enrique's situation away from football during this time.

Now, Luis Enrique has made the decision to step away from the national team and has given his blessing for Rubiales to name a successor.

Since the former Barcelona boss had to deal with his personal problems, his assistant, Robert Moreno, has taken charge of La Roja.

The coaching was done by Luis Enrique's team, but Moreno was the person who was person closest to the players and who was on the touchline. Luis Enrique's spell in charge of Spain is over after just 11 months on.
