Opportunity for tourism students to expand their horizons

Muscat: Students at Oman Tourism College (OTC) have got another opportunity to widen their horizons through the international cultural exchange programme for members of its Volunteering & Exchange Network – Noble Club Oman.
Since its inception in 2014, Club members have volunteered locally and internationally, serving the majority of Asian countries including South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.
Diversify learning
This year, in an attempt to diversify learning and to engage students, the Noble Club participants will travel to Europe with their trip commencing in Istanbul, Turkey.
During the trip, students will participate in educational and cultural exchange including workshops on ‘the power of art & its effects on tourism attractions’ and a tour to the world- leading technology powerhouse – the Met Global Tekno Park.
Moreover, students will also partake in a paper marbling activity and a cross-culture awareness session at the Bahcesehir University in Istanbul.
Another travel highlight includes a visit to Turkey’s leading outbound-tour operator to learn and absorb business operations and to study the management skills required to run such an establishment.
