Muscat: In a wonderful humanitarian gesture stemming from its sense of social responsibility, MetsoI E&P MEPME has donated an amount of OMR36,540 towards daily school meals to 500 students for the academic year 2018-2019.
In addition to this, an amount of OMR8,800 for bags and school items to 1,100 students and OMR8,000 for school uniforms to 500 students were also donated.
The School Student Care Programme is considered one of the first programmes adopted by the association in 2006, where the association offers school uniforms, school items and school meals to more than 6,000 students annually. Mitsui E&P Middle East BV or MEPME is a subsidiary of Mitsui Company (Mitsui & Co. Ltd) and is one of the largest Japanese companies around the world and operates across various fields.
Dar Al Atta’a thanked MEPME and all the supporters, shareholders and donors who have contributed to all the association’s programmes.
It is working on the exploration, development and production of oil and gas in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
The company has been operating in Oman since 2002, and MEMPE is committed to supporting sustainable development in the Sultanate through its social programme.
