PTI, Al Turki and Enhance Eagles score exciting wins

MUSCAT: Passage to India (PTI) and Al Turki NMC registered fighting victories against Muscat CT and Enhance respectively in their 50-over Premier Division games in Al Amerat at the weekend.
In a low-scoring match on Saturday, PTI beat Muscat by 14 runs to open its title campaign on a winning note. Batting first, PTI ground its way to a modest 183 before being all out in the final over. Asif Khan (48 off 83), Muhammed Sajjad Ali (41 off 50) and Kashiyap Kumar (33 off 71) were the main scorers. All-rounder Ayaan Khan was the top wicket-taker for Muscat with 3 for 37 while Baadal Singh bagged 2 for 30.
Bolstered by the induction of two Oman national stars Ahmed Fayyaz Butt and Aqib Ilyas, PTI had added more bite to its bowling and it showed on Saturday. Having lost both openers for just 12 runs, Muscat was soon teetering at 92 for 6 before Ayaan (41 off 50) added 61 runs for the 7th wicket with Sandeep Goud who scored 32 off 44. Muscat was finally dismissed for 169 in 49.3 overs. Shoaib Khan contributed 24 off 55 balls. Aqib and Fayyaz Butt captured three wickets each while pacers Muhammed Bilal and Bilal Khan took two each.

Patel shines forAl Turki
Earlier on Friday, Jigneshbhai Patel’s 4 for 23 helped Al Turki NMC to a 4-wicket win over Enhance in the Premier Division game at the Ministry of Sports turf ground 1.
Opting to bat first, Enhance found itself in deep trouble at 27 for 4 in the 12th over and never really recovered from the early blows. The star-studded team was finally bundled out for a meagre 99, Mehran Khan scoring 26 off 35. Apart from Patel, Jay Odedara bowled well too, taking 2 wickets for 20 runs.
Al Turki was seriously tested by Enhance bowlers before it surpassed the small target in 33 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Opener Twinkle Bhandari led the way with a gritty 40 off 100 balls. Enhance captain Khawar Ali claimed 3 for 36 while rookie Zeeshan Tufail bagged 2 wickets for 26 runs.

Sudeep, Obaidullah star for Eagles
Batsman Sudeep Chavan and young all-rounder Obaidullah steered MDC Enhance Eagles to a sensational 4-run win over Renaissance CT in a 50-over A Division clash at MOS grassy ground 2 on Friday.
Invited to bat first, Enhance posted a healthy 151 for 9 in its quota of overs, Chavan topscoring with a solid 89 off 103 balls. Schoolboy Obaidullah contributed a gritty 51 off 92 while Amanpreet Singh remained not out on 37 off 26. Yash Mehta, Kurukulasuriya Sajith and Nikhil Shinde all took two wickets each.
Renaissance fought well after being reduced to 96 for 6 but fell short by 4 runs, scoring 247 for 8 in 50 overs. Amandeep Singh stayed unbeaten on 54 off 53 while Kurukulasuriya slammed 51 off 48. Parmaeshwaran, Obaidullah and Ghazanfar claimed two wickets each.

Parmaeshwaran 2-31, Obaidullah 2-43, Ghazanfar 2-47) by 4 runs.
