Pakistan envoy hails efforts to boost ties

Muscat: Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate, met with Raid Al Araimi, Vice Chairman of the Al Raid Group.
The ambassador outlined the performance of the Pak Oman Investment Company and the complete spectrum of bilateral accords being finalised to foster further cooperation and consolidate relations, “Joint Business Council”, as well as plans to establish the “Oman Pakistan Friendship Association”.
While outlining the 5.2 per cent growth attained in 2017 and the $2.5 billion Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2016-17, the ambassador invited Araimi to benefit from one of the best “investment policies”, which Pakistan offered along with lucrative opportunities in the automobile, energy, oil refining, tourism, retail and housing sectors.
With regards to the cooperation between the two, Al Ariami Group has already outsourced 20 per cent of marble from Pakistan for its upcoming Boulevard Mall.
Araimi expressed appreciation for the general elections in Pakistan and the growing opportunities for progress.
He praised the services of Pakistanis in building and modernising Oman.
