21 arrested for theft across the Sultanate

Muscat: A total of 21 suspects were arrested on charges of theft in different cases around the country, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said in a report on Wednesday.
Eight of the suspects were of "African nationality", and were accused of "theft and vandalism in 10 schools". An ROP official said, "Another seven were accused of stealing transportation devices from Wilayat Mirbat and Salalah."
All the suspects confessed to committing the crimes and were referred to judicial authorities.
The police command in North Batinah Governorate also arrested six expatriates for stealing electrical cables.
A police source said, "The Department of Criminal Investigation... conducted a search and investigation of the theft of cables. The police efforts and the cooperation of citizens and residents resulted in the arrest of suspects while they were in wilayat of Saham, and were found with the cables."
