Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Sunday and closed at 4,563.20 points, up by 0.10 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 625.45 points, up by 0.09 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Batinah Power, up by 4.27 per cent. The top loser was Al Anwar Holding, which closed lower by 2.44 per cent.
A total number of 677 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.95 million with more than 18.48 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 8 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR588,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR104,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR693,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.09 per cent to close at 7016.52 points. Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding, HSBC Bank, United Finance, Gulf Investment Services and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were up by 2.35 per cent, 1.65 per cent, 1.09 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank and Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding were down by 2.44 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 0.77 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.62 per cent to close at 5672.11 points. Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering, Voltamp Energy, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and National Aluminium Products were up by 2.92 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 1.7 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Oman Cement was down by 1.08 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.72 per cent to close at 2,487.45 points. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Sharqiyah Desalination, National Gas and OIFC were up by 4.27 per cent, 4.2 per cent, 3.08 per cent, 2.41 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, Dhofar Generating Company and Omantel were down by 1.39 per cent, 0.9 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively.
