State Council Chairman Mantheri commends Oman-China relations

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received in his office on Wednesday Chen Xiaoguang, Vice Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of his official visit to the Sultanate.
Dr. Al Mantheri commended the strong relations binding the Sultanate and the People’s Republic of China. He affirmed the rapid progress in the relations of cooperation between the two friendly countries in various spheres.
He also referred to the celebration of 40th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between them, which would contribute in opening new avenues to enhance frames of cooperation and deepening partnership between them particularly in economic fields.
The meeting reviewed means of promoting cooperation between the Sultanate and China in parliamentary fields.
On his turn, the CPPCC Vice Chairperson expressed his delight to visit the Sultanate. He expressed his admiration of the comprehensive development being witnessed by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. He also underlined the Sultanate’s role in safeguarding international peace and security.
He added that his country accords a special attention to promote relations of economic cooperation with the Sultanate. He referred to the increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
He also considered the Chinese Industrial Park in Duqm Zone depicting China’s keenness to enter investment partnerships with the Sultanate to serve interest of both friendly countries.
At the end of the meeting, the visiting delegation viewed a documentary highlighting stages of development in Shura march in the Sultanate, as well as contribution of the State Council in the national work.
The meeting was attended by the two Deputy Chairmen of the State Council, honourable members, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Al Shura and the Chinese Ambassador to the Sultanate.
