Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Wednesday and closed at 4,429.45 points, up by 0.01 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 612.20 points, down by 0.06 per cent. Dhofar Generating Company was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, up by 3.41 per cent. The top loser was Dhofar Generating Company, which closed lower by 6.22 per cent.
A total number of 736 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.21 million with more than 21.12 million shares changing hands. Out of 27 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 6 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR3.49 million worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR103,000, while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR3.6 million worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.24 per cent to close at 6,902.29 points. Al Anwar Holding and Ahli Bank were up by 0.88 per cent and 0.67 per cent, respectively. Bank Nizwa, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were down by 1.15 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.17 per cent to close at 5,495.19 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Fisheries were up by 3.41 per cent and 2.41 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering was down by 0.95 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.13 per cent to close at 2,380.80 points. Omantel and Ooredoo were up by 1.03 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Dhofar Generating Company was down by 6.22 per cent.
