Senior consultant gastroenterologist & hepatologist joins Muscat Private Hospital

Muscat: Dr Juma Al Lawati, a leading and renowned Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, has joined Muscat Private Hospital, Baushar, the most trusted hospital in the Sultanate managed by the United Medical Group.
Dr Juma Al Lawati, the Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist, brings in more than two decades of experience of working with patients of all ages.
His speciality includes gastrointestinal endoscopy for upper and lower diagnostics and therapeutics, capsule endoscopy, fibroscan, esophagealmanometry, anorectal manometry, and 24-hour pH monitor with or without impedance.

Noted for his passion and dedication to providing quality healthcare, Dr Juma Al Lawati completed his MBBS at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, and his residency at the Royal Hospital, Muscat. He acquired MRCP and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London from Ireland and received certification in Higher Diploma in Quality Management from Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and Fixed Term Appointment Certificate in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
He has also completed a Management Department programme from Modern Gulf Institute and a Health Professional Education Course from the Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat.
Dr Juma’s previous experience includes Gastroenterology service at Khoula Hospital and Al Nahda Hospital in Muscat and Beaumont Hospital and St Vincent’s hospital in Dublin, Ireland. As a Senior Consultant and Head of Gastroenterology at the Royal Hospital, his service had been exemplary.
He has been active as President of Oman Gastroenterology Society for two years and is a distinguished speaker and active participant in various CME talks and workshops. Several of his articles on liver transplantation have been published in various international medical journals.
Dr Juma is a pioneer in Oman medical field by bringing in a FibroScan device at his hospital for the first time. A FibroScan device offers a painless and non-invasive examination for patients suffering from any liver disease.
