Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Tuesday and closed at 4,429.19 points, up by 0.03 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 612.58 points, up by 0.07 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, up by 3.53 per cent. The top loser was Muscat Gases, which closed lower by 3.92 per cent.
A total number of 461 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.41 million with more than 8.14 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 7 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR110,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR40,000, while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR150,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.14 per cent to close at 6,918.64 points. Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Holding and Oman and Emirates Inv. Holding were up by 3.45 per cent, 2.7 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were down by 1.04 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.21 per cent to close at 5,485.97 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Voltamp Energy were up by 3.53 per cent and 1.75 per cent respectively. Oman Flour Mills was down by 2.63 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.09 per cent to close at 2,377.72 points. Sharqiyah Desalination, Ooredoo, Almaha Petroleum Products and Al Jazeera Services were up by 1.96 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, National Gas, Sohar Power and Omantel were down by 3.92 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
