Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Monday and closed at 4,381.78 points, up by 0.34 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 607.75 points, up by 0.39 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Ahli Bank Perpetual Bonds was most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was National Bank of Oman, up by 2.78 per cent. The top loser was Taageer Finance, which closed lower by 5.10 per cent.
A total number of 261 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR982,000 with more than 5.48 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 13 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR44,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR1,000, while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR46,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.48 per cent to close at 6,810.63 points. National Bank Of Oman, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Madina Investment, Bank Nizwa and Bank Dhofar were up by 2.78 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively. Taageer Finance, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, HSBC Bank, Al Anwar Holding and Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding were down by 5.1 per cent, 4 per cent, 1.68 per cent, 0.93 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.36 per cent to close at 5,470.98 points. There were no gainers. Gulf International Chemicals, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 3.14 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index lost 0.05 per cent to close at 2,372.07 points. Ooredoo and Muscat City Desalination were up by 2.04 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively. OIFC, Sembcorp Salalah, Sohar Power and Omantel were down by 2.06 per cent, 1.36 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
