New Zealand school teachers go on strike for the first time in more than 20 years.

This came as demands to increase public sector salaries grow.

Almost 30,000 primary school teachers did not turn up to work and held protests across the country.

As a result, parents of roughly 400,000 children aged five to 13 at public schools scrambled to find childcare.
