OCCI committee discusses tourism sector association

Muscat: The Tourism Committee of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) held a meeting with the publicity team of Oman Tourism Association at OCCI headquarters.
The meeting was chaired by Ali bin Salim Al Hajri, OCCI Board Member and Head of OCCI Branch in the Governorate North Al Sharqiya and Head of the Committee, in the presence of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, OCCI Chairman, and members of the board, members of the Committee, heads of the Tourism Committee of the various branches of the Chamber, representatives of the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh) and the representatives of the National Program of CEOs.
Mohammed Al Issa, Tourism Sector Supervisor at the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit, said that the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification is implementing the objectives of the Ninth Five-Year Development Plan (2016-2020) to meet the challenges and difficulties faced by government, private and civil authorities.
He pointed out that the tourism sector is one of the targeted sectors in Tanfeedh programme, and through the labour labs, the outputs of the programme recommended the establishment a tourism sector association to contribute to supporting the tourism sector in the Sultanate.
