Flights resume at Cochin airport after flooding threat

Muscat: All operations at Cochin International Airport have resumed as of 3:00 pm (India Standard Time), according to a spokesperson of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL).
The airport halted its arrival operations on Thursday in view of possible inundation in the airport area, following a rise in water level of the Periyar river.
As a result Oman Air flight to Cochin was diverted while Jet Airways Muscat-Cochin flight was delayed, according to the airport authorities.
In an update, Jet Airways said: “Cochin International Airport is now open and our flight operations have resumed. Guests can check their flight status online and also reach out to our contact centre for any assistance.”
A large number of flights fly to Cochin International Airport Limited directly from Muscat International Airport.
